Understanding Risk, Control & Compliance

► We understand the responsibilities across the three lines of defence: business teams owning and managing risk, risk and compliance functions providing oversight and challenge, and internal audit delivering independent assurance. This understanding helps us select professionals with the right experience for each assignment, whether embedding controls, conducting compliance monitoring or supporting audit remediation.

► Our market knowledge spans credit, market, liquidity and operational risk, alongside conduct, financial crime, technology and third-party risk. We recognise that retail banking, commercial lending, wealth management and capital markets require different product knowledge, technical capabilities and stakeholder experience.

► Within controls programmes, we understand the distinction between control design, implementation and operating effectiveness. Assignments can include risk and control assessments, process mapping, control testing, issue management and remediation. Successful delivery requires clear ownership, consistent methodologies and evidence that improvements are embedded.

► Compliance programmes demand equally targeted expertise. Anti-money laundering, customer due diligence, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring require specialists who understand case complexity, escalation procedures and quality standards. We assess talent against these practical requirements, combining technical knowledge with sound judgement and delivery experience.

► Each Statement of Work establishes scope, deliverables, milestones, responsibilities and acceptance criteria. Governance provides visibility of progress, quality, dependencies and emerging risks, while agreed change procedures keep delivery aligned with business priorities. Handover includes documentation and knowledge transfer to permanent teams.

► By combining recruitment expertise with disciplined delivery, we help banks access professionals who understand their environment and contribute to measurable outcomes. Our focus is on effective controls, robust compliance and improvements that last beyond the individual assignment.
