Treasury Operations – UK Bank – Emerging Markets

Broadgate Partners was asked to provide support, assistance and innovation skills to the client’s Treasury Operations Division, to enable the timely processing and settlement of FX, Money Market and Securities products and ensure that payments were processed within the SLA for the company’s global emerging markets clients

  • We reviewed, documented and implemented enhanced control functions to ensure daily processing and associated tasks were completed within the client’s SLA and to maintain compliance with external regulatory requirements and the internal control environment
  • Drove the continuous improvement environment within Treasury Operations, assisted with the delivery of the change book of work and also identified and implemented smaller-scale BAU process enhancements
  • Provided oversight on the Treasury Operations team and ensured that all FX, Payment, Deposit and Securities transactions were settled in accordance with SLAs
  • Supported the investigation and resolution of queries with banks and brokers in a timely manner and engaged, built and maintained relationships with correspondent banks and other third parties

Malcolm moved into management consulting in 2013.

Martin has over 35 years financial services logistics experience with 21 of those years spent in investment banking operations. The majority of his career was spent at UBS, where as a Director, he managed a number of departments including: Cash Management, Equity Derivatives Middle Office and Settlements, OTC Equity Control, BAU Process Change, Credit Derivatives Settlements and the cross-asset class ISDA OTC Documentation area. Martin moved into financial services recruitment in 2006 and management consulting in 2013.

After graduating from the Newcastle Business School in 1994, Julian initially worked in the FMCG sector before moving into the recruitment industry in 1996. As an investment banking, asset management, finance and change management specialist, he has worked with some of the world’s leading financial services institutions in the UK, US and Asia. Julian moved into management consulting in 2013.
