Front Office – Carbon Markets Strategic Operating Model - Global Bank

Our client approached Broadgate Partners with the requirement for resources to work within the Chief Operating Office, specifically in the strategy and execution project team in order set up and run a number of strategic and go-forward projects. One of these was to implement a strategic operating model for carbon markets trading.

  • Lead the project to deliver the carbon markets strategic operating model
  • Defined the book of work required to deliver the new process
  • Defined and documented the operating model requirements with a large stakeholder audience to deliver the BOM and TOM
  • Analysed voluntary carbon credit forward product viability, to enhance the bank’s trading portfolio
  • Classified the requirements into technology or process changes and allocated them to the relevant areas to deliver, monitoring and managing these changes
  • Lead the front to back testing to completion and produced all associated documentation including the test strategy, test cases, defect logs, daily calls etc
  • Lead the implementation, resolved defects, rolled-out go-live plan and runbooks
  • Managed the Project RAID log and presented monthly project updates to senior stakeholders

After graduating from the University of Exeter in 1989, he initially worked in the accountancy and media sectors before moving into the recruitment industry in the early 1990s. As an investment banking operations and change management specialist, he has worked with some of the world’s leading financial services institutions across the globe. Malcolm moved into management consulting in 2013.

Martin has over 35 years financial services logistics experience with 21 of those years spent in investment banking operations. The majority of his career was spent at UBS, where as a Director, he managed a number of departments including: Cash Management, Equity Derivatives Middle Office and Settlements, OTC Equity Control, BAU Process Change, Credit Derivatives Settlements and the cross-asset class ISDA OTC Documentation area. Martin moved into financial services recruitment in 2006 and management consulting in 2013.

After graduating from the Newcastle Business School in 1994, Julian initially worked in the FMCG sector before moving into the recruitment industry in 1996. As an investment banking, asset management, finance and change management specialist, he has worked with some of the world’s leading financial services institutions in the UK, US and Asia. Julian moved into management consulting in 2013.
